Four Deputies from WCSO to Assist with Security at Democratic National Convention
Walton County Sheriff's Office will be sending four deputies to North Carolina next month to work security detail for the Democratic National Convention.

Law enforcement officials from all over the country have been invited to help provide security at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. next month - including deputies from .
The agreed Tuesday to let four deputies from the WCSO travel to North Carolina to assist with security from Sept. 3 to 6. BOC members were assured that the bill would be picked up by the Democratic National Convention team and wouldn’t cost the county anything. The cost of housing and Workmen’s Compensation, etc. during the four days also would be covered.
Officials were concerned that it might cost the county overtime pay for remaining deputies to pick up the extra duty, but were assured by the finance officer that probably wouldn’t be necessary.

According to Wikipedia, the first three days of the Democratic National Convention will be at the Time Warner Cable Arena. It will then will move to the Bank of America Stadium on Sept. 6 for Democratic presumptive presidential nominee Barack Obama to deliver his acceptance speech. He will be formally nominated by former President Bill Clinton.
