  1. 400 community, business, educational, and environmental leaders attended Governor Kemp's Environmental Address in Gwinnett for the 14th year in a row. Gathering at the Convention Center at Gas South District, Kemp pointed to investments in state parks, as well as water and air quality infrastructure, arguing that better environmental policies make the state more appealing to businesses. Georgia is a national leader in the Electric Vehicle industry and third in the country for environmental sustainability. (Metro Atlanta CEO)
  2. The Walton County Fire Rescue warns locals of a phishing text message scam. The Walton County Fire Department has not authorized any person or entity to sell Fire Department t-shirts and you should not pay any money for them.   3. The City of Conyers slates nearly $1M to upgrade four pocket parks and create the city’s first dog park just 25 minutes from Loganville-Grayson. Bonner Park on Rowland Road, East View Park on East View Road, Veal Street Park, and Pleasant Circle Park are all on the list to be improved. The dog park will be adjacent to East View Park. Conyers Mayor Vince Evans said, “Parks are natural quality of life amenities that citizens have asked for and thanks to SPLOST and ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funds, these revitalized parks — and a new park for our four-legged friends — will soon be a reality.” (On Common Ground News)
  4. U.S. Rep. Carolyn Bourdeaux has donated Library of Congress surplus books to Gwinnett County schools. The books are in multiple languages and highlight subjects such as the first Congress and notable figures, like Malala Yousafzai and Madam C.J. Walker. Bourdeaux's office secured 203 books, worth more than $3,000, from the Library of Congress for Summerour Middle School, North Gwinnett Middle School, and White Oak Elementary School.
