HALL COUNTY, GA – A SWAT standoff ended Saturday when a man barricaded himself inside his home, before shooting at Hall County deputies and was then fatally shot by deputies in return fire, police say. No deputies or bystanders were injured during the incident.

Just before 5 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to 3185 Truelove Road, in East Hall County, regarding a man with a gun.

Upon arrival, they learned that the resident of that address had pointed at handgun at neighbors, and when the deputies attempted to make contact with him, he barricaded himself inside the residence and refused all attempts at communication. SWAT team members and investigators arrived on the scene a short time later, and an extended effort to establish contact and negotiate with the suspect was undertaken.
