250 Norfolk Southern Employees Relocating to Midtown

Invest Atlanta has offered the railroad company tax breaks to bring more workers to the city.

Over 250 people who’ve been working for the railroad in Virginia will be making new homes in the Midtown area thanks to an incentive-laden deal between Invest Atlanta and Norfolk Southern.

The deal will see Norfolk Southern invest approximately $75 million into renovating its Atlanta headquarters in exchange for tax incentives that would see Invest Atlanta own the property for 10 years and lease it to the railroad company, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Renovations will consist of changes to plumbing, furniture, HVAC, efficiency upgrades, and brand new data infrastructure, Atlanta Business Chronicle says.
