Atlanta Police Arrest Suspect in Midtown-Area Apartment Killing
Police have charged the suspect with manslaughter instead of murder, according to a spokeswoman.

Atlanta police have arrested and charged the man they believe shot and killed another person at a party at a Midtown-area apartment on Wednesday.
Brandon Stone has been charged with manslaughter as opposed to criminal homicide for the killing at the Envoy at Northside apartments, spokeswoman Kim Jones told Patch Thursday. The circumstances surrounding the shooting were relayed to the District Attorney’s office, Jones said.
Police were called to the Envoy on Northside apartments just after midnight Wednesday in reference to a person shot and killed inside an apartment there, according to a police report. Upon arriving, officers discovered a dead man in his 20s with “multiple defects on his body consistent with gunshot wounds.” WSB-TV reports that the man was from out of town and attending a party at the apartment when he was shot and killed.
