BeltLine Lantern Parade Kicks off Saturday
Around 20,000 people are expected to participate in this year's event, which wraps up at Piedmont Park.

Midtown Atlanta will come to life with bright lights, fun music, and displays of creativity during Saturday night’s BeltLine Lantern Parade.
11 Alive reports that around 23,000 people are expected to participate in Saturday’s parade, with marching bands joining the tens of thousands of LED lantern-brandishing participants on a two-mile walk along the BeltLine’s Eastside Trail.

Parade participants are asked to assemble at the Eastside Trail’s intersection with Irwin Street at 7:15 p.m., an hour before the parade is scheduled to begin. Two miles later, the parade will disperse at Piedmont Park.
If you want to get in on the action and create your own lantern for the parade, Atlanta Beltline is hosting lantern-making workshops on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning and afternoon at the inaugural Old Fourth Ward Fall Festival. On Friday, workshops will be held at 5 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 8 p.m., and 9:30 p.m. On Saturday, workshops will be held at 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 4 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. Each workshop will provide supplies and LED lights for participants.
