Carjacking Victim Dies

The 17-year-old was shot in Midtown on Friday when he tried to buy marijuana, according to a report.

Midtown, GA -- A 17-year-old who was shot during a carjacking in Midtown on Friday died over the weekend, according to a report.

Sean Turner, 17, died from his wounds on Saturday, police told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Turner and his friend were trying to buy marijuana when they encountered a brother of an old friend, called “Salsa,” who said he could help them get drugs. Two men got in the victims’ BMW while Salsa followed in another car, the AJC said.

The men in the BMW directed the victims to Charles Allen Drive and 9th Street, then pulled out guns and forced the victims from the car. The AJC reported that the men then drove off, but got stuck in traffic.

Turner chased after the BMW and caught up to it, but was shot in the arm and the abdomen when he tried to get back inside. He was rushed to Atlanta Medical Center in critical condition, the AJC said.
