City Accepting Feedback on PARKAtlanta
The city's unpopular parking service could be towed away as early next year. City leaders want to hear residents' opinions of the service.

Atlanta motorists who have slowly but surely developed a seething hatred for PARKAtlanta can play a crucial role in its demise through a variety of media, including public meetings which begin next month.
For those who prefer the in-person approach, Councilwoman Felicia Moore and the transportation committee which she chairs will make an appearance at a town hall scheduled for Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. Another town hall is planned on Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Inman Middle School. A third meeting will be scheduled in the near future, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution says.

Duncan Solutions, which administers the PARKAtlanta program, is in the final year of its contract with the city which reportedly guarantees the city over $5 million a year in revenue, the AJC says.
The marriage between the city and PARKAtlanta has not been a happy one, and even Mayor Kasim Reed concedes that it might be time for the two entities to go their separate ways once the contract expires, according to the AJC.
If the PARKAtlanta contract is not renewed, the city could internalize parking enforcement operations or search for a new contractor with which to do business.
