Friendship and Grace

Patch contributor shares a video as part of her continuing effort to save the historic Friendship Baptist Church building.

By Molly Read Woo

Dear Friends,

Please check out the new Friendship and Grace video - with clearer text, and a link to the petition to save the historic Friendship Baptist Church building - which would be a perfect starting point for a tour of civil rights history in Atlanta.

Here's the link: http://youtu.be/gsPD7rHicuc

Will saving Friendship Baptist Church impact the city's plans to tear down the Georgia Dome and other valuable Atlanta landmarks and put a publicly subsidized football stadium and massive publicly funded parking lot to benefit the Falcons' franchise smack dab in the middle of our city?

You bet it will - Which is all the more reason to save Friendship for Atlanta -and our future.

- and No, keeping the church is not a conflict with the sale of the property by the present congregants, who can continue in a new location, just like the current congregation of Ebenezer Baptist Church does - right across the street from the historic Ebenezer Church - a destination for visitors from around the world who want to know about Atlanta's unique history.

Please check out the video - sign the petition, and call your city council rep and Atlanta's mayor and tell them to Save Friendship!

Thanks, Friends -

Wishing us all the best in Atlanta -

Molly
