Georgia Weather Forecast: Wildfires Keep Burning With Warm, Dry Week Ahead

Temperatures will return to the 70s later this week, and there'll be another chance for some much-needed rain. Here's your forecast:

ATLANTA, GA -- It's a cooler Sunday, with a chance for much-needed rain, but the showers and cool temps will push out of the region and return us to dry, warmer weather, according to the National Weather Service.

"This is definitely some much needed rainfall, but we're not expecting much in the way of accumulations," according to weather service forecasters. "The precipitation we are getting today should help keep the fires across north Georgia from spreading, but (we) dont think it will be enough to extinguish them."

The week is going to be sunny, with temperatures climbing back into the 70s by Wednesday. Expect noticeable wind on Monday and winds up to 10 mph on Tuesday.
