Dash To These Top Bakeries In GA, New Survey Says

ATLANTA, GA — Two bakeries in Georgia have been recognized for their sweet holiday treats, according to a new DoorDash ranking.

The food-delivery service, on Dec. 11, named the top 50 bakeries for holiday indulgence across the U.S. At these shops, customers can partake in seasonal pies, various cupcakes and the not-so-favorable fruitcake.

“The holidays call for simple joys – and that includes dessert,” Ruth Isenstadt, head of U.S. restaurants at DoorDash, said in the report. “The Holiday Dessert 50 celebrates the neighborhood spots that anchor their communities with sweetness and creativity. This season, convenience is a gift in itself, and we’re proud to help people enjoy their favorite sweets on-demand while also supporting local small businesses.”

According to DoorDash, the honorees secured the highest average customer ratings, had less than 10 locations and boasted more than 500 customer reviews.

In Georgia, two rising stars are:

• Alpine Bakery and Trattoria, Alpharetta
  • 12315 Crabapple Road
  • Known for towering cheesecakes, Italian pastries and holiday cakes, per DoorDash.
  • Has a 4.8 out of 5 DashPass rating.
  • Offers the million dollar cake, Boston cream cake, peanut butter pie, turtle cheesecake, chocolate pecan pie, strawberry cupcake, coconut cream cupcake, eclair, chocolate-filled butter cookie, fruit tart and brownie truffles.
  • DoorDash reviewers say the food was fresh, the "cannoli is indulgent" and "the oreo cheesecake bar and red velvet cake slices were absolutely enormous, and all of it was packaged very well."
• Sammy Cheezecake, East Point
  • 3875 Washington Road
  • Specializes in rich, ultra-creamy cheesecakes, per DoorDash.
  • Has a 4.8 out of 5 DashPass rating.
  • Offers slices of Oreo cheesecake, vanilla cake, cookies and cream cake, New York cheesecake, red velvet cake with pecans, yellow chocolate cake, lemon cake and pound cake.
  • DoorDash reviewers say "everything was amazing," note the decent portion sizes and warn the cake served at Sammy Cheezecake "causes big backs. You will become addicted."

Anyone planning to travel may want to satisfy their sweet tooth at one of these other shops on the top 50 list: Artuso Pastry Shop in The Bronx, New York; Cheesecakes by Alex in Greensboro, North Carolina; Crepes N' Crisps in Cleveland, Ohio; Bigfoot Cookies in Missoula, Montana; or Choc Cookies in Santa Clara, California.
