Got Talent? 'American Idol' Auditions Set For Piedmont Park

ATLANTA, GA -- Do you have what it takes to be the next Kelly Clarkston, Adam Lambert or Jordin Sparks? "American Idol" is coming to Atlanta to hold auditions in Piedmont Park this month.

The auditions are set for Tuesday, August 22 at Oak Hill in the Midtown park. "American Idol," now in its 16th season, will feature a panel of celebrity judges as usual. Gone are the judges of yesteryear: "It's a no for me, dog" Randy Johnson and the permanent-scowl-faced Simon Cowell. This season, music star Katy Perry has signed on. Ryan Seacrest and Kieth Urban are reportedly thisclose to rejoining the show as well.

In 2002, "Idol" debuted on Fox. The singing competition quickly gained traction among American viewers and has inspired a host of similarly formatted shows, including "The Voice," "America's Got Talent" and more.
