Ice Cream Festival Set For Saturday At Piedmont Park

We all scream for ice cream! Saturday, July 22 marks the 7th annual Atlanta Ice Cream Festival in Piedmont Park.

ATLANTA, GA -- You know the drill: I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. On Saturday, July 22 in Piedmont Park, there will be quite a bit of delighted children screaming in joy as they enjoy their sweet treats. So cone (sorry) on down!

Festivities on tap include the customary Ice Cream Eating Contest for both kids and adults, the double dutch routines, hula hoop competitions, jump rope activities as well as a plethora of wellness activities, including boom shock fitness, exercise routines, yoga and Chinese exercises from Falun Dafa Association of Atlanta.

The event won't be all fun and games. For more serious people, there will be screenings for HIV, diabetes and high blood pressure. All of that will take place in the Wellness Pavilion, sponsored by the Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority.

10 a.m. -- Fight Cancer Benefit Walk (Proceeds directly for Leah Dortch Family)
11 a.m. – 6:00pm Yoga & all day wellness activities/entertainment
11 a.m. -- FREE Wellness Pavilion Opens (Sponsored by The Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority)
1:00pm – 2:00pm Young Chef Pavilion Showcase
3 p.m. -- Ice Cream Eating Comp (Sponsored by Brewster’s Real Ice Cream)
6 p.m. -- Event Closes
