ICYMI: Tech Students Robbed at Apartment

The students told police they had left the door to their apartment open because their air conditioning unit was broken.

Atlanta police are looking for two men they believe robbed a pair of Georgia Tech students at gunpoint inside their apartment on Monday morning.

A police report states that the two students were inside their dwelling at the Centennial Place Apartments on Lovejoy Street at approximately 2:57 a.m. Monday when two black males, one carrying a handgun, came through their open door and tied them up with socks. Once the students were bound, the suspects stole the students’ electronic devices and $120. The door to the apartment was open because the apartments’ air conditioning unit was not operating, according to the report.

A campus alert from Georgia Tech describes the first suspect as a black male, 20-30 years old, 5’7” tall, 190 pounds, with short hair. He was wearing a black shirt, gray jeans, and silver necklaces. He possibly has a tattoo on his face.
