Motocross Pro Ronnie Renner Jumps 34 feet over Midtown

Friday night, professional motocross rider Ronnie Renner practiced his Step Up in the heart of Midtown Atlanta.  Ronnie cleared an eye catching 34 feet over the bar on Friday night, and as expected went even higher on Saturday.

A ramp was constructed at 14th Street and Spring Street, in order to hold this special practice session for Ronnie Renner ahead of the X-Games in Los Angeles this week.

The Step Up is similar to high jump, except with a bike.  In Step Up competition, riders speed off a ramp and over a bar which is continuously raised higher until only one rider can clear the bar without touching it. Renner was excited to have the opportunity to practice his Step Up before he defends his gold medal at X Games Los Angeles.

Other freestyle motocross riders Brody Wilson, Clint Esposito and Tom Parsons were also on site doing crowd-pleasing demos.

Last year, Renner landed in the Guinness Book of World Records for the highest X Games motocross Step Up with an apex of 47 feet and this year he hopes to push himself to new heights.
