Police Release Description of Armed Robbery Suspect

The man fired shots during a struggle over his gun on Saturday morning, shattering glass which injured a child.

Atlanta police have released a brief description of the man they believe tried to rob two others at gunpoint outside a Midtown apartment complex and set off a chain of events which injured a child on Saturday night.

One of the victims told police the man who tried to rob him and his friend at 77 12th St. was a black man with a black hat, facial hair, red hoodie and dark colored pants. The man also had a “Glock” handgun, which went off while the victim and the suspect struggled for it, a police report said.

Although the bullets did not harm anyone, three rounds did shatter a glass door in front of the apartment right as a woman and her two daughters were walking through. The three fled and hid behind a front office desk, but the woman’s one-year-old girl suffered a glass cut injury to her cheek.
