Every startup begins with a spark. First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta is now accepting applications for the 2026 cohort of its Epiphany program, a faith-based social entrepreneurship incubator supporting startups tackling today’s most pressing challenges. Epiphany is an evergreen initiative that equips entrepreneurs developing innovative solutions to social issues with funding, mentorship, and strategic guidance. If you are an emerging founder with a vision to address societal challenges often overlooked by traditional markets, Epiphany offers the resources needed to help your venture grow. Examples of qualifying ventures include businesses that employ formerly incarcerated individuals or adults with developmental challenges, as well as enterprises offering services such as coding training for refugees or mechanical skills development in low-income communities. Since its launch, Epiphany has awarded nearly half a million dollars in grants and supported multiple successful ventures, including Refuge Coffee Co., PadSplit, and Purposeful Gourmet Foods. Modeled in part after the format of Shark Tank, the program provides early-stage entrepreneurs with capital, mentorship, and access to a network focused on impact areas such as hunger, homelessness, housing, refugee resettlement, racial equity, poverty, healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability. The annual <a href="http://www.dogwood.org" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Dogwood Festival</a> held at Piedmont Park marks the official start of spring for many Atlantans as the beautiful Dogwoods are in full bloom. The much-anticipated event kicks off Friday and lasts through Sunday. This year marks the 77th year of the free festival, where hundreds of artists will set up their tents and approximately 200,000 people will come out for the wide array of art, the live music and delicious food. <blockquote> <h2>Patch wants to see your Dogwood Festival photos! Share them by clicking the "Upload Photos and Videos" button!</h2> </blockquote> Festival-goers will find everything from sculptures, paintings, pottery, jewelry and photography this weekend. Sara Evans will offer a concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday and kids can enjoy the Kids Village, full of giant inflatables and hands-on arts and crafts projects. You can also take the family to watch some incredible dog athletes in the Dog Village. The Disc Dog Southern Nationals tournament began at the Atlanta Dogwood Festival more than 22 years ago with only 10 competitors as a one-day event and has grown to a two-day event over the years.
