What Percentage of Drivers Stop at the New 10th Street Crosswalk?
This short video shows whether drivers stop at the new crosswalk for pedestrians or not.
This is by no means a scientific analysis of the number of drivers who do or do not stop at the new 10th Street crosswalk which helps to connect Midtown MARTA station, but I was still interested in taking some video just to see.
In fact, I was one of the drivers who recently ran through the crosswalk as pedestrians were in the island. It was not on purpose, but it still happened... My excuse is that I was trying to speed around a car that was going too slow, but as I got in the other lane I was then going too fast to stop for the crosswalk. (Of course, this is not an acceptable excuse.)
Please take a look at the short video that is attached. You will see that many people DO stop for the pedestrians, but there is a small percentage of people who do not stop for one reason or another.

My advice for pedestrians-- Look both ways and DO NOT trust these drivers to stop!
What are your thoughts on the new crosswalk...Good Idea, or creating more traffic?
