What's Open and Closed in Atlanta on Thanksgiving

Here's what you need to know for Thursday and Friday.

Today is the last day this week you can handle any affairs with city and county government entities due to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

City of Atlanta offices will close on Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27 to observe the holiday, though public safety personnel will still be on the job.

Creatures of habit will be glad to know that no changes to the solid waste curbside pickup schedule have been made for the week of Thanksgiving, according to the Atlanta Department of Public Works.

The Atlanta Streetcar is free to ride until the end of the year, though its schedule has been modified for the Thanksgiving Holiday:

  • On Thursday, November 26, the Streetcar will run from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • On Friday, November 27, and Saturday, November 28, the Streetcar will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
  • The Streetcar will resume normal operating hours of 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 29 and normal weekday hours of 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30.
