Whole Foods To Open 'The Roast' Restaurant in Midtown On June 1
Called 'The Roast,' the 48-seat restaurant will feature fast-casual Brazilian cuisine.
ATLANTA, GA -- Whole Foods grocery will open a full-scale restaurant inside its Midtown store on Ponce De Leon Avenue on June 1, Patch has learned. For months now, shoppers have seen extensive renovations going on next to the grocery store. Patch has previously written about the eatery, called The Roast.
The Roast, the Austin-based company's first free-standing restaurant, will serve a fast-casual menu featuring Brazilian cuisine with a serve-yourself option for bowls. The eatery's hours will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., according to Atlanta Journal Constitution. The fare will feature bowls of protein, vegetables and vegan options that patrons can build themselves using digital kiosks.

Local chef Kevin Gillespie of Gunshow and Revival has been tapped for the restaurant's launch, creating a Flavor of the Andes bowl with Peruvian red chicken over roasted purple potatoes, the AJC reports.
In the evenings, customers can enjoy bar bites along with local and regional draft beer and cocktails.
