MAHS’s Truitt Commits to Auburn Tigers

MAHS rising senior Stanton Truitt reportedly had 25 offers before settling on Auburn.

Al.com is reporting that Auburn has scored Monroe Area High School star athlete Stanton Truitt for its 2014 recruiting class. The rising senior announced his commitment via twitter. 

“I have officially committed to Auburn University!!! I want to thank everyone for the support, it means a lot,” he tweeted at 12:16 pm on July 17. 

Known for his speed on the track as well as the football field, Truitt is credited with helping lead the 2013 Hurricanes to a regional title and a spot in the playoffs.  According to Al.com, Truitt ran for 1,448 yards, threw for 812 and scored 28 touchdowns as a quarterback for MAHS. He was reportedly recruited by receivers' coach Dameyune Craig as a slot receiver and potential quarterback.

Auburn.247sports.com reports that Truitt had planned visits to Florida and Kentucky, but has cancelled those trips since Wednesdays commitment to the Auburn Tigers.
