Famed Pizzeria Unveils Plan To Open 15 GA Locations
Opening more than a dozen new restaurants in Georgia will be a first for Sally's Apizza. The famed pizzeria was founded in CT 90 years ago.

Sally's Apizza is expanding to include hundreds of restaurants in 12 states, including in Georgia, according to an ambitious plan unveiled by the famed pizzeria's owners.
The plan, touted as "transforming the dine-in pizza landscape," was shared via Sally's.
The Connecticut-based company said it is "building the restaurant chain pizza lovers have always wanted."

Sally's is venturing out to open 15 new Georgia locations, a new chapter for the pizza shop. It was not immediately known where in Georgia the pizzeria will set up shop.
The franchise was founded in 1938 by Salvatore "Sally" Consiglio and remained solely in New Haven, Connecticut, until 2021, when the Stamford location opened. Following Stamford have been additional restaurants in Massachusetts.

Part of the secret to Sally's pies, according to a teaser in the expansion packet, are ovens at 3,000 degrees, cheese that's freshly shredded and crust that is both crispy and chewy. And, of course, the sauce.
The menu at Sally's features potato and rosemary, New Haven original clam, garden special and other pizzas. Meatballs, fried dough, rigatoni, Italian wings, fried mozzarella and crispy calamari are also on the menu.
Celebrities endorsing Sally's through the years have included Paul Newman, John F. Kennedy, Gwyneth Paltrow, Gordon Ramsay and perhaps the ultimate Italian outside of Vito Corleone, Frank Sinatra.
Maybe even bigger, at least for the younger crowd, is online pizza guru David Portnoy announcing Sally's as his all-time favorite.
Sally's latest "strategic location goals" would place 255 of its restaurants in 12 states. According to the plans, a breakdown is as follows:
- Connecticut — 15
- Massachusetts — 15
- New York — 25
- Pennsylvania — 20
- Maryland — 15
- Virginia — 15
- North Carolina — 15
- South Carolina — 15
- Georgia — 15
- Florida — 35
- Texas — 45
- New Jersey — 25
It is unknown when construction will begin on the new Georgia sites.
With 75,000-plus pizzerias in the country, the market is large enough for even 1,000 Sally's in the U.S., according to the plans.
