Man Was Allegedly Carjacked at Gunpoint Just Inside the Walton County Line
The incident began as a car theft, escalating into an armed carjacking when the victim tried to pursue the suspect.

The following is an update to the carjacking initially reported in the the zone alert report.
The victim reported that he was visiting his mother on Sunday, April 21, in Morgan County when the carjacking incident began.
According to the report from Walton County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began when the suspect pulled into the victim’s mother’s driveway, got out of a gold mini van, into a white Honda CRV belonging to the victim's mother, and drove away. The victim immediately followed in his Maroon Jeep Grand Cherokee. About two miles inside the Walton County line in the Social Circle area, the suspect allegedly stopped the car and came at the victim with a handgun that he had retrieved from the stolen Honda. The victim said he believed it was a Taurus 25 automatic.

The suspect, a black male, then allegedly told the victim to get out the car and run in the opposite direction. The suspect got into the Maroon Jeep Grand Cherokee and drove off, leaving the white Honda CRV behind.
The victim told police that a second gun, a 38 Cal. Smith and Wesson, which was also in the Honda initially, appeared to be missing as well. The gold mini van was located at DNR fish hatchery. It and the Honda were taken for processing.

Officials are not releasing the name of the victim at this time.
