Monroe Man Gets Into Scuffle with Masked Intruder

The man, sleeping on his couch, was wakened when a man, wearing a black hoodie and a camo mask, walked into his home.

According to an incident report from the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, a Monroe man reported that he was sleeping on his couch just before 3 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2013, when he was wakened by someone coming in the front door. The incident happened in the 2500 block of Tommy Dillard Road in Monroe.

The victim confronted the man, who was reported to be wearing a think black hooded sweatshirt and a camo mask, in his dining room. The victim reported that he struck the subject with a chair and then physically forced the man out of the residence. The subject ran off in the direction of Mt. Vernon Road.

During the scuffle, the victim was able to pull down the mask, reportedly revealing a white male with scruffy looking, light brown, facial hair. The man also was described as being about 6 ft tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He was reported to be in his early 20s. The victim reportedly was left with scraped knuckles, scratches on his face and bruising on his face and abdomen.
