According to a public information officer from GSP, the driver of the 2007 Chevrolet Impala that hit the bicycle was a 20-year-old woman from Oxford. The 10-year-old was reportedly riding his bicycle southbound on Wheelhouse lane when he ran the stop sign. He hit the right front of the car and then struck the windshield, resulting in a head injury. He was lifeflighted to Egleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta.
