Samuel J. Boozer of Monroe, GA peacefully passed away on April 16, 2013 from his home in Monroe, GA.

He was born in Atlanta, GA to Samuel Preston and Mildred Doby Boozer. He grew up in the Atlanta, GA area. Sam was a World War II veteran and served in Japan. He also was a mason. For the past 30 years, Sam and his wife Jean lived in Walton County. Sam was a small business owner operating businesses such as a motel in Dekalb County and a farm in Walton County. Sam left behind many memories that will continue to sustain and lift his family and friends. He left a legacy of hard work, honesty and strength of character. He was a friend to all he met. Sam is survived by his wife, Eugenia (Jean) Perkins Boozer and his three children, Deborah Boozer Saloom, Mark A. Boozer and A. Keith Boozer. Sam and Jean were married for 62 years and have 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held on Friday, April 19, 2013 in the Monroe Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Entombment with prayer and military recognition followed at Melwood Cemetery, 5170 E. Ponce De Leon Ave., Stone Mountain, GA 30083.
