Registration Closes June 19 for Monroe Stretch 5K

The mayor of Monroe is inviting residents to Stretch Across Monroe on Saturday, June 22, 2013, for the Monroe Stretch 5K. The race is on the paved streets of historic downtown Monroe. 

Packet pickup and race day registration will begin at 7 a.m. The race begins at 8 a.m. Registration is at the Monroe First Baptist Church, 202 McDaniel St., Monroe. Early registration is closed. The cost is now $30. Shirts and Goodies will be provided but shirts are only guaranteed to pre-registered participants. Race day registrants are not guaranteed a shirt. There will be plenty of fluids and snacks available on race day.

Awards will be given to the Overall Male/Female and Overall Masters Male/Female. Age Group awards will be given 3 deep in the standard age groups beginning with 10 and Under to 75 and Over. Finish line management and results provided by Classic Race Services with results posted to www.classicraceservices.com, www.runningintheusa.com, www.active.com and www.coolrunning.com.

The race is part of the 2013 Stretch Out Across Walton Series, Black Bag Race Series and the Run and See Georgia Grand Prix.
