Newnan firefighters lift stranded deer after month long ordeal (fox5atlanta.com) — Newnan firefighters used a 70-foot ladder truck and rope gear to hoist a stranded deer from a deep retention pond at the Jackson apartments on Greison Trail, turning an unusual call into hands-on rope-rescue training. Neighbors who had been feeding the buck, nicknamed Jackson, watched as crews secured him in a Stokes basket for relocation by state wildlife officials. 
2. Arrest Log: Week of Dec. 1-7 (times-herald.com) — Coweta County has released its latest jail booking list for Dec. 1–7, noting which agencies made each arrest, including Newnan Police Department, Newnan City Court, and Newnan Probation. Newnan attorney enters congressional race for Georgia's 14th District (thecitizen.com) — Newnan attorney Jared Craig, president of Georgia Veterans for America First, is running in the March 17, 2026 special election to fill Georgia’s 14th Congressional District seat, despite living outside the district.
