Kell's Williams Earns Gatorade Honor

The Longhorns' standout was named the top female high school track and field athlete in the nation.

Kendell Williams, who just completed a brilliant sports career at Kell High School, has been named the Gatorade National High School Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year.

The honor was announced Thursday morning.

Williams, a recent Kell graduate who is headed to the University of Georgia, won 11 individual state championships, including the high jump, long jump and 100-meter hurdles as a senior.

Among her many recent honors include being named the top female track and field athlete in Cobb by The Marietta Daily Journal and in Georgia by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
