AΒ WellStar Kennestone HospitalΒ employee allegedly admitted that aΒ stillborn baby was thrown out as medical waste, according to a lawsuit filed last weekΒ against the MariettaΒ hospital.

"It just shocks the conscience and it enrages me as a person," attorney Kevin Adamson toldΒ WSB-TV.

Adamson represents the family of the stillborn babyΒ who was delivered in January 2012. The family wanted a private cremation for the baby, but the boy's remains were allegedly taken toΒ Medford-Peden Funeral Home & CreamtoryΒ for a mass cremation with other infants, according to WSB. The WellStar employee told the familyΒ that the child's ashes were buried under a tree at the funeral home.

"That's a bunch of bull," the funeral home'sΒ Pete Peden told the station.

The baby's remains have not been recovered to this day, according to WSB.

WellStar spokeswomanΒ Michelle Robinson said in a statement that the hospital could notΒ comment on pending litigation.Β The hospital has 30 days to respond to the lawsuit in Cobb County State Court.
