Athens Academy to Host 'Color & Clay: Art in Harmony'

The following is a news release:

For Lawrence Stueck, the word harmony perfectly describes Athens Academy’s upcoming art exhibition scheduled for Myer’s Gallery, March 3-April 17.

β€œCharles Warnock suggested the title Color & Clay: Art in Harmony because the mediums represented in the upcoming exhibition are perfect examples of how different expressions of art complement each other to create the aesthetic harmony remarkably inherent in the blending of all art,” explained Stueck, director of the gallery.

In Color and Clay: Art in Harmony, painter Warnock and ceramist/photographer Cindy Lou Farley, will display distinctive representations of their special fields in an exhibition that bridges medium, style, and personality. The two have in common a history of association with Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF), located in Watkinsville, both as contributing artists and as dedicated volunteers of the group’s various art projects.

β€œWe think the variety in the exhibition will impress patrons and admirers of all forms of art,” Stueck said. β€œCharles Warnock’s work in oils and acrylics, usually depicting vivid floral subjects, are most often large and colorfully bold, and are visually commanding. Cindy Lou Farley’s sculptural and functional ceramic objects bring a lively dimension to the show that can only be found in clay art. Her photographs depict subjects found locally and while traveling.”
