
Oconee County Fire Rescue conducted the annual Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation Boot Drive on Saturday, May 11.Â
Over 46 firefighters and medical responders raised funds at Butler’s Crossroads, Epps Bridge Parkway area, and Highway 53 and 78.Â
The Burn Foundation funds several areas: educating the public in burn awareness and prevention, supporting medical facilities in the care of burn victims, assisting burn survivors in their recovery, and providing a burn camp for children that have experienced burns.

Oconee County Fire Department was one of many fire departments across the state of Georgia that hosted a Burn Foundation Boot Drive. Oconee Fire Rescue has been the top volunteer department in the state in fundraising over the past 11 years.
This year, OCFR members raised over $17,970 at the road intersections.
