Oconee County's Charlotte Hudson, 12, holds Georgia-Alabama State Junior Tennis Championship Trophy

The future of Oconee County tennis got some good news and scored a big hit last week when Charlotte Hudson, a sixth grader at Malcom Bridge Middle School, won the 12 and under girls division at the Georgia-Alabama State Junior Tennis Championship held in Bainbridge, GA. The level 4 Southern tournament drew players from all over the southeast, and as far away as Pennsylvania.

Hudson, who's older sister Amber is a senior mainstay on the North Oconee Titan tennis team, won five straight matches enroute to capturing the title. Her winning matches included wins over the number two seed in the quarterfinals, a win over the number four seed in the semi-finals and a win over the number three seed in the finals to take the title.
