Back to School: Bus Routes, Meal Prices, Tax-Free Shopping and More

We've got five things you should know as your child heads back to school.

Oconee County students head back to school this week. Here is some information to start the school year off right. 

1. Key Dates

The first day of school is Wednesday, Aug. 7.  The first holiday is Labor Day, Sept. 2. (Click here for the entire 2013-2014 school calendar.)


2. Meal prices 

  • Reduced Price breakfast, all grades: $0.30
  • Reduced price lunch, all grades: $0.40

Paid breakfast and lunch prices across the board have increased by 5 cents. 
  • Paid breakfast, all grades: $1.50
  • Regular lunch, elementary: $2.15
  • Regular adult breakfast: $1.95
  • Regular lunch, middle/high: $2.40
  • Supreme lunch, middle/high: $3.40
  • Regular adult lunch: $3.50

3. Where to find bus information

4. Tax free weekend 

If you still need to buy school supplies, you may want to wait until this weekend for all but the essential first-day-of-school supplies to take advantage of tax free purchases. Find out what you should know about the tax free weekend.
