• Ex-UGA football player gets life sentence for murder of RaceTrac clerk (wsbtv.com) — A former University of Georgia football player has been sentenced to life in prison for killing clerk Elijah Wood at the RaceTrac on Macon Highway in Watkinsville. The judge ordered life without parole, to run alongside an existing 30-year federal sentence tied to a separate case. The conviction followed charges including felony murder, attempted armed robbery, and aggravated assault.
