Caterpillar has listed the following jobs for the new Oconee-Athens plant on its career website:

Warehouse Associate - 1, 2, and 3 shift 

• Utilizing heavy equipment, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts and overhead cranes
• Perform material handling and warehousing functions as required
• Order filling, processing, storing/ picking of parts, materials, equipment and supplies.
• Operating automated packaging equipment, paint line operation, shipping and receiving.

Warehouse Associate Team Lead 3rd shift

• Coordinating workflow
• Promoting cooperative team relationships
• Actively promoting safe work practices and procedures
• Establishing daily priorities, providing feedback to supervisory team on Associate performance
• Performing and/or coordinating the training of Associates on work techniques and promoting continuous improvement.
• Assists the Supervisor/Foreman in: performing the material handling and warehousing functions required in inbound, outbound and other operational functions.
• Working from a variety of source documents to verify quantities, count parts, fill orders, package parts, etc.
• Using machines for weighing, banding, wrapping, packaging, stenciling, etc.
• Maintaining related records or reports as required and resolving discrepancies where needed
• Operating computer terminals to access and update information for receiving, counting, and order processing
• Performing and assigning housekeeping functions; using mobile equipment as required facilitating job functions
• Reporting defects and need for repairs on mobile equipment by following safety procedures
• Assisting the Warehouse Associates in resolving various work related issues.

• Monitors and improves shop floor safety, aggressively eliminates unsafe processes;
• Assures fixtures, tooling and processes are followed to meet production schedules;
• Determines priorities and sequences jobs;
• Schedules and prioritizes constrained resources, and adjusts staffing to meet flow and customer requirements;
• Determines and executes disciplinary action when appropriate;
• Procures and distributes production material to meet schedules;

• Practices and teaches CPS Guiding Principles;
• Initiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with Team Leads and Team Members;
• Drives root cause corrective action projects and drives continuous improvement;
• Leads section status reporting and monitors / audits section metrics; and
• Leads the creation, implementation and training of standard work procedures.
