UPDATE: Chilly Weather Postpones 2013 Oconee County Relay for Life

The local fundraiser for the American Cancer Society has been rescheduled for May 18.

Because there's a chance for a wintry mix Friday, Oconee County Relay for life organizers are taking no chances.

The event, which was to begin at 6:30 p.m. on March 22 and continue throughout the night until dawn, will be moved to May 18.

It was to take place on the Oconee County High School track, but the stadium will be undergoing renovations.  North Oconee High School will instead host the event, which will start in the morning and wrap with closing ceremonies that evening, according to a notice posted on Facebook.
