'Gone With the Wind' Documentary to Film in Marietta - Marietta Patch
National film companyΒ Leva Film WorksΒ will shoot scenes in Marietta on Memorial Day weekend for a documentary that will be included in the 75th anniversary edition DVD ofΒ Gone With the Wind.
The documentary will featureΒ Root House Museum and Garden,Β Zion Church Museum,Brumby Hall,Β Marietta National Cemetery, Marietta Square and Glover Park, andΒ Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park.

Millions Stolen from East Cobb Woman - East Cobb Patch
For nearly four years, Jeffrey T. Carr and his father allegedly used manipulation and a family rift to steal millions of dollars from a 91-year-old East Cobb woman.
But the alleged deception came to a halt around 10 a.m. Tuesday when investigators with theΒ Cobb County Sheriffβs OfficeΒ Fraud Unit arrested the father and the son without incident.

Starlight Drive-in Shooter Found Guilty of Murder - East Atlanta Patch
Guilty. That was a DeKalb County jury's verdict in the case against Quentric S. Williams, for the 2012 murder of Tae Kwon Do world champion and Georgia National Guardsman Mitt-Chai Lenix at theΒ Starlight Drive-in Theatre.
Williams was convicted Thursday of a number of charges including: malice murder, felony murder and aggravated assault.

Suspicious Package Closes Portion of Piedmont Road on Thursday - Buckhead Patch
A package found to contain clothing and personal effects caused portions of Piedmont Road to be closed for a short time on Thursday.
Gregory Lyon, an Atlanta police spokesman, said SWAT teams investigated reports of a suspicious package near the intersection of Piedmont and Darlington roads. A nearby apartment complex was evacuated as a precaution.
