Oconee County Fire and Rescue Tuesday, July 2, extinguished a fire that popped up along US 78 near GA 53 around 3:30 p.m.
Fire Chief Bruce Thaxton said the flames burned a 150’ x 20’ grassy area. No cause was determined, he added.
The roadway was partially blocked for about an hour.
