Homer Woman Charged in Burglary of Oconee Pawn Shop Building

Authorities report they've linked Nancy Jo Mize to the January break-in at the building that used to house the Hard Times pawn shop.

A Homer woman has been charged in the Jan. 18th burglary of the old Hard Times pawn shop building in Bogart.

Nancy Jo Mize, 40, is currently being held in the Oconee County Jail on a $20,000 bond, according to the .

The arrest stemmed from an investigation into the break-in where numerous collectables, tools, baseball cards, jewelry and some furniture were reportedly taken, a news release stated.

When they arrived at her home on Tuesday, Banks County investigators say they found Mize in the act of burning several of the stolen items and took her into custody. Some items were discovered and others may have been sold, they reported.

Mize was transferred to Oconee County Jail on Thursday, though additional charges are pending in Banks County, the Sheriff's Office noted.
