Man Says Daughter, Son-in-Law, Forged Checks, One in Oconee

The information in this story comes from the Oconee Sheriff's Office. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

On December 18th, a 70-year-old Lavonia man told Oconee County Sheriff's Deputies about a family situation that has cost him money.

He said his daughter, Cierra Dawn Liles, 25, and her husband Joshua Lies, 29, both of Martin, Ga., ordered checks on his bank account from a third party provider. They have written 28 different checks from this account in various Georgia counties.

One of the checks was written to the Walmart on Epps Bridge Parkway for $77.68. The man told deputies that he needed a forgery report to resolve the problem.
