OCAF Announces 2024 Perspectives: Georgia Pottery Invitational
Largest sale of functional pottery in the Southeast

Perspectives: Georgia Pottery Invitational will showcase the work of 50 gifted potters from across the state and over 5,000 pieces of their work in a huge exhibition and sale taking place from August 24- September 8, 2024. This event will be held in the Oconee Cultural Arts 1902 building, 34 School Street, Watkinsville, as well as in renovated Rocket Hall nearby. The hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and admission is free. Pottery making demonstrations will be held on Saturday, August 24 and Saturday, August 31 in Rocket Hall at 1 p.m.
Now in its 22nd year, Perspectives attracts art collectors, patrons and hundreds of art lovers from across the country. It is the largest exhibit of functional pottery in the Southeast. βWe are so very excited to be hosting one of the largest pottery shows in the stateβ says Paul Clark, OCAF Interim Director. βIt has been a major part of The Oconee Cultural Arts Foundationβs mission to support art and artists in not only our community but also northeast Georgia. It truly is an honor to have people come from all over the country to attend this event and each year our staff and volunteers work very hard to meet or exceed the standard of the previous years. We hope to see everyone attend multiple times!β
Returning this year is the opening reception and preview, a celebration of participating potters, to be held on August 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets for this event, sold on site only, are $25, and will include appetizers, wine, and musical entertainment in the beautiful OCAF gardens. In addition, attendees will have the first opportunity to shop/view the exhibit before it is open to the public.
