Oconee County Sheriff's Office Welcomes New Staff Members
Two new jailers are on the job and a new patrol deputy will begin work in August.
The are several new faces at the Oconee County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Scott Berry announced last week on Facebook the hire of Wade King and Derrick Perdue, certified jailers and peace officers who have been assigned to the jail.
Wade comes from the Elbert County Sheriff's Office, where he was a lieutenant in the investigations unit. Derrick previously worked with the Department of Corrections.Â
Deputy Adam Thrower will be joining the sheriff's office in August as a member of the Patrol Division.  He has two years of experience and a bachelor's degree from Kennesaw State University.
In other personnel news, Guy Brown has returned from a job in Afghanistan and is working in the Patrol Division, while Cpl. Ernest Montgomery recently left the sheriff's office to attend law school.Â
