Week-Long Thanksgiving Break Scheduled for Oconee County Schools Next Year
The school board recently approved the 2013-14 proposed calendar with revisions.
Oconee County Schools will be closed for an entire week during the Thanksgiving holiday next school year.
After a little reworking of the 2013-14 school calendar proposed in November, the school board at its meeting last week unanimously approved the revisions, according to the meeting's minutes.
A furlough day, which had been considered for Friday, Nov. 1, was moved to Monday, Nov. 25. Additionally, a student/teacher holiday that was to fall on Tuesday, Oct. 15 --originally tacked on to fall break -- was moved to Tuesday, Nov. 26.
