Oconee Today -- Feb. 9

Zumba, stargazing, and theatre are a few of the things to know about in and around Oconee today.

Weather: Plenty of sunshine is in today's National Weather Service forecast.Β  Expect high temperatures in the mid 50s. Lows overnight will drop into the low 30s.

Top things to know:

  • are offered at the Oconee County Senior Center of Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 10 a.m. The fee for the class is $5.
  • View the cloud belts of Jupiter, winter moon craters and winter constellations at "" atΒ  Sandy Creek Park beginning at 6 p.m. Bring your own telescope or share telescopes provided by the Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services and the Athens Astronomical Association. Cost is $2 per person.
  • It's opening night for the Athens Academy Middle School's Doors to the Bertelsmann Presentation Hall open at 7 p.m. and the actors take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students.
  • All this week, the East Georgia Red Cross will receive 100 percent of profits from the sale of special pizza certificates from Fox's Pizza Den.
