• Oconee Blotter: Athens man forces way into truck after hearing woman scream (onlineathens.com) — Recent Oconee County incident reports include a Sagefield Drive, Watkinsville resident who discovered a .38-caliber revolver stolen from his vehicle and a Watkinsville woman whose Mercedes was taken and later seized in Jackson County. Deputies also handled shoplifting, suspected DUI, an odd confrontation at a Bogart gas station, a heavily armed Walmart theft suspect, drug seizures, and a Move Over law arrest.
   

• Meet UGA's 2026 Bulldog 100 (uga.edu) — Several Watkinsville businesses, including Arch Legacy Firm, Pathwise CPA Group, and Pitman and Greer Engineering, made UGA’s 2026 Bulldog 100 list of fastest-growing alumni-led companies. The recognition highlights strong local entrepreneurship ahead of a February 2026 celebration in Athens honoring these high-growth firms.
   

• Gisler celebrates victory in Georgia statehouse election (classiccitynews.com) — A Watkinsville-based trucking company owner, Mack “Dutch” Guest IV, narrowly lost Tuesday’s special election for Georgia House District 121 to Democrat Eric Gisler, who flipped the seat. The race, centered on Oconee and east Athens-Clarke counties, drew strong turnout and focused on local concerns like cost of living and healthcare access.
