Sandbags are being used to control storm water runoff and prevent water from pooling on Simonton Bridge Road. The section of roadway has flooded multiple times over the past few weeks as a result of heavy rainfall.
Watkinsville City Clerk Julie Sanders said the city purchased the sand and church members stacked the bags.
