Weekend Planner: Gardens, Film Festival and Scavenger Hunt

Where/When: State Botanical Garden of Georgia, UGA Trial Gardens and UGA Horticultural Club site on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: To attend one, two or all three spring plant sales taking place simultaneously and to have horticulturists, volunteers and Master Gardeners on hand to help you with your plant selections at all three sites.

Where/When: Saturday, April 14 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. at in Athens

Why Go: To see international independent movies aimed at children, youth, and families and introduce different aesthetics, cultures and realities.

Pricing: $6 

Where/When: Sunday, April 15 from 3-4 p.m. at Hendershots Coffee Shop on Oglethorpe Avenue in Athens.

Why Go: To celebrate of the release of the book "Emma Enlgeberg's Happy Pets." A portion of the proceeds will benefit the AAHS Humane Education Program.

Pricing: $5 per family

 

Where/When: Sunday, April 15 at 9 a.m. at the ACC Landfill in Winterville

Why Go: To learn about the landfill's best recyclers, vultures and participate in a fun scavenger hunt.
