What is the big deal with builder debris pits?

Builder debris pits (aka sinkholes) are a big deal because they not only cause major damage, but they are really dangerous!

So what's the big deal with builder debris pits? They are dangerous! Builder debris pits (aka sinkholes) are very deceptive in appearance. More times than not, a sinkhole on the surface appears harmless and very small. You might only see a small depression or dip in your yard, leading to the thought that you just have a low spot in your yard or some erosion issues going on. Sinkholes are good at mimicking erosion issues because water tends to follow and go to where there is a depression or hole, causing the same surface issues as erosion. They can also take a long period of time to develop, also leading to a false sense of security.

If anyone gets hurt on your property because of a sinkhole, you are fault rather you knew it was there or not! If you wait too long, a hole will develop in the weakest part of the sinkhole and you will be able to see that on the surface. Once there is a hole, its too late! You might want to move quickly before you or someone else falls in!

The best way to know for sure of what is going on in your yard, is to call a sinkhole contractor like Bailey Construction & Landscaping, LLC to see what is going on with your yard. You can also read more information about builder trash pits on their website on their sinkhole page.
