• Perry High School band to perform on national stage at New Orleans Sugar Bowl (wfxl.com) — Perry High School’s marching band is heading to New Orleans to perform in the Sugar Bowl parade and Battle of the Bands on national TV, representing both their school and the Perry community. After a year of fundraising nearly $140,000 with strong local support, more than 100 Panther band members will be the only Georgia band in the competition.

• Warner Robins man convicted of distributing fentanyl leading to death (hhjonline.com) — A Warner Robins man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after a fentanyl distribution case tied to a 2023 overdose death, with Perry Police among the agencies involved. Houston County officials say overdoses remain a serious problem, with dozens of deaths in recent years and hundreds of overdose calls. The DA’s office credits Perry and other local departments for coordinated drug enforcement efforts.
